On Wednesday 28th March, we are delighted to welcome a truly inspirational Yorkshireman to Bowcliffe for our first Drivers’ Club Members’ Evening of 2018. Believe us when we say that anyone with a love for cars will not want to miss this! David Brown is a Harrogate-born businessman who started David Brown Automotive in 2013 out of a love of the classic, and a respect for modern, cars.
What? Drivers’ Club Members’ Evening with David Brown from David Brown Automotive
Where? Bowcliffe Drivers’ Club
When? Wednesday 28th March, 7 pm arrival
Dress code Smart-casual
David’s inspiration for his business came following a classic car rally in the South of France, for which he had borrowed a Ferrari Daytona, arguably one of the most beautiful classic cars in existence. Unfortunately, after a couple of days enduring poor performance, overheating and no mod cons, the Daytona finally broke down, and David had to finish the trip in a rather less attractive, but eternally more reliable, European hatchback.
Why wasn’t it possible to marry true classic beauty with modern technology?
David Brown Automotive is a British design company in the business of designing limited edition and bespoke handcrafted automobiles cars that encapsulate the beautiful styling of the sixties – with the same incredible level of detail and craftsmanship – teamed with modern day performance, conveniences, safety and technology.
During the evening you will hear about David’s deeply-ingrained love of all things automotive, from early beginnings as his father’s first employee at DJB Engineering; a company which was formed in 1972 and designed, engineered, built, marketed and sold a revolutionary type of off-highway articulated earth-moving vehicle, and which was eventually sold to off-road giant, Caterpillar in the 90s. Right through to today – whereby his own FLEDbusiness vision has been realised in the form of the stunning Speedback GT and its anticipated second model, Mini Remastered.
We live in hope that David might even bring one or two of his gorgeous creations on the evening!
During the evening, Head Chef Andy Lawson and the exceptional events team will be serving some divine food on the house and of course, the bar will be open for both alcoholic and soft drinks. Unfortunately, numbers for this event are limited to a maximum of 80 guests, so please get in touch with the events team as soon as possible on firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01937 541111 if you would like to attend.
