Golf days at Bowcliffe Hall

We are delighted to announce that as part of our exceptional 2018 events calendar, we are offering two, one-of-a-kind golf tuition days. The two Golf Tuition Days will be hosted by PGA Professional, TPI & AimPoint Certified Instructor James Robinson and are perfect for beginners and those with a more enviable handicap wishing to bring a focus back to basic skills.

When: 10 am, Friday 18th May, South Lawn, Bowcliffe Hall

Cost:  £35.00 per person

What:  Drivers’ Club members and their guests are invited to join a Golf Tuition Day hosted by PGA Professional, TPI & AimPoint Certified Instructor, James Robinson.

Aimed at beginners or more experienced players wishing to go back to basics, initial activities will focus on the basics of posture, grip and a simple pitching motion, how to address the golf ball with different clubs, what clubs are used in which locations on the golf course and demonstrations on how to hit the shots from James.

Guests will then be given the opportunity to hit shots off the mats provided, working in small groups. Following this, tuition will be provided by James, giving advice and overall coaching to help you show instant improvement.

A soup and sandwich lunch will then be served in the Bowcliffe Room, giving you the chance to ask James any questions about the day or golf in general. If you are keen to further develop your skills, we highly recommend booking onto our second Golf Tuition Day as well – details below.

James started playing golf aged 11 and the game quickly became an obsession, with training paying off as he beat his dad at just 12 years old.

After two years working for a supplier to the MOD, building defence units for Camp Bastian in Afghanistan and similar locations around the world, James decided to turn his attention back to his true passion, golf. This time he took it up as a career, travelling six out of seven continents playing in competitions and tournaments.

A persistent spinal injury resulting in surgery meant James began focusing most of his time on coaching, quickly becoming a highly sought-after teacher for beginners and experts alike.

In 2014 he set up his own coaching brand, JCR Performance, and at the end of 2016 he was headhunted to work at Huddersfield Golf Club, Fixby Hall by Head Professional, Alex Keighley, who made history this year in becoming the first female PGA Captain of the Northern Region.
