On Thursday, September 21st, Bowcliffe Hall will be holding an intimate and exclusive members-only wine tasting and informal lunch event in association with Bowcliffe’s wine merchant, House of Townend and the Irvine Estate.
Taking place in Bowcliffe’s regal Briefing Room, 16 guests will be offered a unique opportunity to join Rebekah Richardson, a winemaker at the renowned Irvine Estate in Barossa, as she explains more about a select few of the Estate’s most special wines.
Rebekah has taken over from James Irvine, who is arguably one of the greatest Merlot producers in Australia. Irvine’s six vineyards span over 400 acres of the most esteemed Barossa and Eden Valley regions.
This is a perfect chance for oenophile’s to gather and enjoy a very interesting tasting, paired with a delicious grazing style lunch of smoked, cured meats and pates from Lishman’s of Ilkley and Yorkshire’s finest cheeses, served with sour dough breads, chutneys and pickles – prepared by Bowcliffe’s Executive Chef, Andy Lawson.
The wines on show will include:
- Springhill Pinot Gris 2015
- Springhill Merlot 2014
- Estate Cabernet Merlot 2013
- The Grand Merlot 2009
The event is £28 per head, with numbers strictly limited and likely to sell out quickly. The tasting and lunch will take place at 1pm on Thursday September 21st.
