Zenith’s Montre d’ Aeronef Type 20 Blackburn Watch Takes Flight

Zenith Bowcliffe Drinks PartyThe Blackburn Wing really was the only venue for the launch of Zenith’s elegant Type 20 watch designed, like the Wing itself to honour the achievements of Robert Blackburn. The 100 or so specially invited guests were treated to delicious canapés and champagne whilst a master watch maker revealed the work required to create the beautiful and delicate time pieces. Robert Blackburn’s daughter Sarah was in attendance and was thrilled with the honour the watch and the venue pay to her father.

Jonathan was also able to show Sarah the King’s Cup which was awarded by the Royal Aero Club in 1931 to E.C.T Edwards whoJonathan And Sarah Kings Cup won the cross country air race in a Blackburn Bluebird IV, flying 983 miles reaching an average speed of 117.8 miles per hour.
