N. Peal Cashmere Collection Video Shot on the Beautiful Laudale Estate

As many of you may already know, Bowcliffe Hall is part of The Bayford Group – a number of diverse entrepreneurial companies run by people inspired to make a difference. One of these businesses is the spectacular Laudale Estate, nestled on the southern shores of picturesque Loch Sunart on the west coast of Scotland. So rugged and beautiful in fact, that luxury clothing brand, N.Peal, decided to film a significant part of their latest Cashmere Campaign to the backdrop of Laudale and its never-ending beauty. In the video, two iconic brands celebrate over fifty years of Bond style with the 007 cashmere collection. Featuring thirteen separate ‘looks’, N Peal has covered all six actors who have played Bond during the last 50 years. Styles that are not just inspired by Bond, but worn by Bond in Skyfall and Spectre.

Watch the video (and spot our glorious Estate), below…

N. Peal has always offered a piece of London to its customers; incorporating city glamour and timeless style. Cherished by urban dwellers, world travellers, Hollywood stars and royalty alike.

If you’re thinking of heading to Scotland for a getaway, then why not talk to us about hiring Laudale House or one of the five beautiful Laudale cottages. 100 Years of the Bayford Group

“We are delighted to be celebrating 100 years of Bayford this year. After the end of the First World War four soldiers from Leeds were demobbed in a village called Bayford in Hertfordshire. They started a coal merchants in Leeds and whilst now a much more diverse business, Bayford has continued its evolution in the energy sector. It launched Gulf Gas and Power in 2017.

In 1988, Bayford Energy moved to Bowcliffe Hall Estate where the Bayford Group Head Office remains today.

Author and historian Nigel Watson is finalising his book on the history of Bayford and the first 100 years. It is due to be published before Christmas”

– Bayford CEO and Bowcliffe Custodian, Jonathan Turner

Laudale Estate – Bliss in the Scottish Highlands

Laudale Estate - Bowcliffe Hall

You’ve likely noticed that the Bowcliffe menus are frequently smattered with divine dishes containing Laudale Estate venison, but as more people become enamoured with staycationing and exploring the most unspoiled parts of the UK, we thought it was about time we shone a rather more prominent spotlight on this Scottish jewel.

Laudale is an exceptional Scottish Estate nestled on the southern shores of picturesque Loch Sunart on the beautiful and unspoiled Morven Peninsula. It not only produces some of the most delicious venison we’ve ever tasted but also offers up the finest accommodation in a setting that is, quite frankly, spectacular. Whether you’re looking for the splendour and scope offered by Laudale House, or, the cosiness and romance of a hidden cottage, Laudale has options for every taste and budget.

Laudale Estate - Bowcliffe Hall

The Estate has some of the best accommodation you’re likely to find, with the main country house, Laudale House, setting the precedent by epitomising the very best in Scottish hospitality. Accommodating twenty people in 10 luxurious en-suite bedrooms and featuring a large kitchen diner, formal dining room, drawing room with open fire, television lounge, games room, drying room and fully integrated wireless sound system on the ground floor, it is the ideal place for birthday celebrations, anniversary parties, weddings, or, simply to escape to and reconnect with family and friends. To ensure you get the very best from your stay, ghillies can be arranged to run stalking parties, teach archery, reveal the best fishing spots or lead wildlife walks which bring to life the outstanding natural beauty of the area. Use of the Estate boat & Boatman can also be arranged for trips on the Loch and further afield.

If however, you’re after a getaway for a smaller group, or perhaps a wildly romantic couples retreat – then Laudale also has six beautiful self-catering cottages, accommodating between two and six people, all with views across the Loch and enjoying the same sense of seclusion that Laudale House does.

Stalking, archery, clay pigeon shooting and watersports, are just a few of the activities available to book on the Estate. Waking up to the view across the waters of Loch Sunart really is quite something, especially if you catch it covered with an early morning layer of ethereal mist, or sparkling blindingly in glorious sunshine.

Laudale Estate - Bowcliffe Hall

Perhaps the icing on the cake is that Laudale has its very own seaplane, ‘The Spirit of Laudale’, available to fly you (and up to eight other guests) straight to the Estate from Loch Lomond or any airport of your choice. Failing that, book a flight during your stay, we guarantee you that exploring the spectacular West Coast of Scotland by seaplane is a breath-taking and awe-inspiring experience that will never leave you.

Concours D’Elegance Event at Bowcliffe Hall

77 of Yorkshire’s top businesspeople descended on Bowcliffe Hall Estate last week, for what was dubbed the ‘Bowcliffe Concours D’Elegance’. Sponsored by UBS, the event was organised to raise awareness and support for The Prince’s Trust and saw guests treated to a day of automotive and gastronomic delights.

13 million pounds worth of classic cars rolled into the exquisite Bowcliffe Estate especially for the Concours event – which was set across the Hall, Drivers’ Club and multi award-winning Blackburn Wing. Amongst the exceptional collection of cars were a host of immaculate and rare Ferrari’s, Jaguar’s, Ginetta’s Bugatti’s and, perhaps most exciting of all, a 1914 Day-Leeds (pictured below). The Day Leeds is believed to be the sole remaining example of one of only 300 cars built by the company.

Pictured above is Rosie Battye, Prince’s Trust Ambassador and Private Sector Fundraising Manager for the North of England, who arrived in her family’s beautiful 1926 Sunbeam Super Sport, 3-litre twin cam. The Sunbeam Super Sports were build to race the Bentley’s at the Le Mans 24hr race and of the 315 built, only around with 40 are still in existence today. A wonderful addition to the car pedigree on the Concours Day.

Those in attendance were able to admire and drive many of the incredible cars before being treated to a canapé and Champagne reception which included the likes of Parfait of Chicken Liver & Foie Gras with Truffle Carpaccio and Lobster, Mango, Chilli & Lime Croustade, washed down with Pol Roger, Brut Reserve NV.

Shortly after, guests heard speeches from a Prince’s Trust Ambassador and Bowcliffe CEO, Jonathan Turner before Executive Chef, John Topham served a delectable three-course meal. And what a meal it was, take a look at the full menu below:

The Potting Shed is now Open! Bowcliffe’s Prettiest Meeting & Events Space

Potting Shed at Bowclliffe Hall

Undoubtedly one of the prettiest spots for meetings and small events, we are delighted to announce that the newly-refurbished Potting Shed is now complete.

Set on a sunny spot close to the East Park, The Potting Shed is a charming venue, flooded with natural light and perfect for cold buffet lunches, afternoon tea parties, BBQ’s, wine tastings or simply as a breakout area for those using the award-winning Blackburn Wing.

The lovely orangery-style glass structure is able to hold up to 20 people, and offers a delightful private and self-contained meeting / events area with accessible snacks and refreshments. Tranquil and uplifting, the fitted blinds deflect the sunlight without compromising the light and airy atmosphere.

Director of events, Michael Gledhill, is keen to extol the virtues of Bowcliffe’s latest space. “The great thing about the meeting and event spaces at Bowcliffe is that they couldn’t be further from the identikit meeting rooms on offer elsewhere. Each one has it’s own distinct personality and I’m happy to say that The Potting Shed is no different. Exuding bucket loads of charm, the space feels refreshing and welcoming – with those who have already visited commenting on the cheerful, calming atmosphere. Because the building is mostly glass, I’m often asked is whether it gets too warm, but I’m happy to report that even on the sunniest days this is not the case – it’s a pleasure to be in.”
