77 of Yorkshire’s top businesspeople descended on Bowcliffe Hall Estate last week, for what was dubbed the ‘Bowcliffe Concours D’Elegance’. Sponsored by UBS, the event was organised to raise awareness and support for The Prince’s Trust and saw guests treated to a day of automotive and gastronomic delights.
13 million pounds worth of classic cars rolled into the exquisite Bowcliffe Estate especially for the Concours event – which was set across the Hall, Drivers’ Club and multi award-winning Blackburn Wing. Amongst the exceptional collection of cars were a host of immaculate and rare Ferrari’s, Jaguar’s, Ginetta’s Bugatti’s and, perhaps most exciting of all, a 1914 Day-Leeds (pictured below). The Day Leeds is believed to be the sole remaining example of one of only 300 cars built by the company.
Pictured above is Rosie Battye, Prince’s Trust Ambassador and Private Sector Fundraising Manager for the North of England, who arrived in her family’s beautiful 1926 Sunbeam Super Sport, 3-litre twin cam. The Sunbeam Super Sports were build to race the Bentley’s at the Le Mans 24hr race and of the 315 built, only around with 40 are still in existence today. A wonderful addition to the car pedigree on the Concours Day.
Those in attendance were able to admire and drive many of the incredible cars before being treated to a canapé and Champagne reception which included the likes of Parfait of Chicken Liver & Foie Gras with Truffle Carpaccio and Lobster, Mango, Chilli & Lime Croustade, washed down with Pol Roger, Brut Reserve NV.
Shortly after, guests heard speeches from a Prince’s Trust Ambassador and Bowcliffe CEO, Jonathan Turner before Executive Chef, John Topham served a delectable three-course meal. And what a meal it was, take a look at the full menu below:
