The Bowcliffe Room

As a wedding venue, Grade II listed Bowcliffe Hall is the epitome of Georgian elegance, from the grand entrance gates and sweeping driveway, to the spectacular central staircase. Home to aviation pioneer, Robert Blackburn, a Yorkshireman who introduced the first scheduled air service to Great Britain, Bowcliffe Hall played host to many important figures including Winston Churchill and Amy Johnson, another eminent English aviation pioneer.

The light and airy Bowcliffe Room was originally Bowcliffe Hall’s drawing room and has retained many original period features. With doors leading directly out onto a sunny south-facing terrace and the formal gardens beyond, the Bowcliffe Room can accommodate up to 85 guests for a civil ceremony or evening reception and up to 60 guests for a wedding breakfast.

Grounds and Chapel

The perfect solution for a larger wedding reception, the Bowcliffe Hall estate offers 58 acres of spectacular and extensive landscaped grounds, with availability for a select number of marquee weddings to be held on either the South or East lawn.

A wedding in a marquee can look stunning during the summer and also work wonderfully in the colder months. We have a tiny Chapel hidden away in the beautifully maintained gardens of the estate. Whilst not licensed for civil ceremonies, the Chapel can accommodate up to 12 guests for an intimate blessing, witnessed by your closest family and friends.
