Intimate, bespoke, luxurious - the perfect Yorkshire wedding venue
The promises that you make on your wedding day are so important, as are the group you choose to share this intimate moment with. However small or large your wedding party, Yorkshire’s Bowcliffe Hall can provide a range of intimate wedding venues to suit your needs.
The Bowcliffe Room
As a wedding venue, Grade II listed Bowcliffe Hall is the epitome of Georgian elegance, from the grand entrance gates and sweeping driveway, to the spectacular central staircase. Home to aviation pioneer, Robert Blackburn, a Yorkshireman who introduced the first scheduled air service to Great Britain, Bowcliffe Hall played host to many important figures including Winston Churchill and Amy Johnson, another eminent English aviation pioneer.
The light and airy Bowcliffe Room was originally Bowcliffe Hall’s drawing room and has retained many original period features. With doors leading directly out onto a sunny south-facing terrace and the formal gardens beyond, the Bowcliffe Room can accommodate up to 85 guests for a civil ceremony or evening reception and up to 60 guests for a wedding breakfast.
The Ballroom is a spectacular and breathtaking wedding venue that has been fully renovated and restored from its original start in life as the Drawing Room of Bowcliffe Hall, part of the stunning 58 acre Bowcliffe Hall estate in Bramham, near Wetherby, West Yorkshire.
With an awe-inspiring chandelier, ceiling gilded with 23.5 carat gold, exclusive hand blocked wallpaper, art deco bar, fully integrated sound system and oak dance floor, the Ballroom is a romantic and opulent wedding venue for a truly discerning couple looking for something with true WOW factor.
The Drivers’ Club
Located within Bowcliffe Hall, the Bowcliffe Drivers’ Club is a Private Members Club available for exclusive use outside normal working hours. An intimate and luxurious wedding venue, offering relaxed and sumptuous surroundings, the Drivers’ Club can accommodate up to 85 guests for a drinks reception, or, up to 35 seated guests for an intimate wedding breakfast.
With decor inspired by the glamorous 1920s and the Golden Age of Motoring, original motoring art and artefacts from artists including Gordon Crosby, Bryan de Grineau, Russell Brockbank, Geo Ham and Yorkshire’s own Alan Fearnley, sit alongside especially commissioned, bespoke pieces and motoring memorabilia, painstakingly collected over four years by the Club’s founder, Jonathan Turner.
The multi-award-winning Blackburn Wing is a 2000 sq ft treehouse shaped like an aeroplane wing and nestled in ancient woodland at the heart of the Bowcliffe Hall estate.
Designed and built with meticulous attention to detail, the copper and glass masterpiece pays tribute to aviation hero Robert Blackburn, who lived in Bowcliffe Hall and was a Yorkshireman who introduced the first scheduled air service in Great Britain and designed and built one of the first powered aeroplanes.
The Blackburn Wing can accommodate up to 120 standing guests and up to 60 guests when seated.
Grounds and Chapel
The perfect solution for a larger wedding reception, the Bowcliffe Hall estate offers 58 acres of spectacular and extensive landscaped grounds, with availability for a select number of marquee weddings to be held on either the South or East lawn.
A wedding in a marquee can look stunning during the summer and also work wonderfully in the colder months. As part of our bespoke hospitality and event planning service, we will work with you to create the perfect day that truly reflects your personal taste and style, and of course, you will have full exclusive use of the estate.
We have a tiny Chapel hidden away in the beautifully maintained gardens of the estate. Whilst not licensed for civil ceremonies, the Chapel can accommodate up to 12 guests for an intimate blessing, witnessed by your closest family and friends.
